SOME HISTORICAL BITS
Not far from the marina, the hotel is the result of the renovation of an old
building belonging to the "Antiche Tonnare Florio" and dating back to the 1850’.
The Florio Building, attributed to the famous architect Giaccherry, who worked for the Florio Family,
is formed by several adjoining buildings: the lodging of the “Rais”, the presbytery, the church of S.
Antonio from Padova (1893-98) (the work of Giuseppe Damiani Almeyda and Filippo La Porta), the
Church tower , the Manager Lodgings and the"Camperia".
The renovation of our annexe concerned the lodgings of the “Rais”, the presbytery, and the small
inner yards. By doing so we have made 13 comfortable rooms and the common spaces.
THE "AMBER" ROOMS AT THE ANNEXE
Quiet and pleasant, all the 13 rooms in the annexe are located either on the ground floor or on the first
one. They all offer the same comforts of the ones in the main building: they are all en-suite (with
shower and hair-dryer), are equipped with air conditioning, heating, mini- bar, tv, telephone, safe
Distinguished by the typical construction with the “tufo a vista” , some of them still show their original
vaulted ceilings.
Perfect for those of you who prefer to be more independent, the rooms in the annexe allow you more
freedom. You’ll get your key on your arrival and won’t have to hand it back any time you go out. You’ll
keep it till the very moment of your departure.
People who stay in the annexe are offered the same services of the main Hotel ; however breakfast and
the other meals are served at the restaurant inside the Aegusa Hotel (only 50 mt. away).
