One of the first hotels to open in Favignana, created through the careful restoration of centuries-old historic buildings in the heart of the old town centre of Favignana.
At the end of the last century, Francesca and Nino purchased a historic building in the heart of Favignana. In love with the island, they decided to restore and enhance the palace, which had an important past. Hotel Aegusa, whose name is a tribute to one of the historical names of the island of Favignana, originated precisely from the renovation of Palazzo De Giorgi, skilfully transformed from a noble residence and institutional seat into a small charming hotel that also features a restaurant.
Thanks to its great success, the hotel was later expanded through the renovation of a wing of the Florio Tonnara adjacent to the little Church of Sant’Antonio da Padova, which locals call "Camparia." Thus, the island's first 'scattered hotel' (Albergo Diffuso) was born, which, managed by Elite Island – starting from 2025 – is enriched with other locations in the immediate vicinity. Today, guests who choose us to make the most of their holiday in Favignana can select from various room types and benefit from exclusive centralised and/or widespread services, such as our main reception, the breakfast room, and the restaurant.
